Dr. Teng Zhou is currently an Assistant Professor, also Head of the Max Planck Partner Group at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). He received his doctoral degree with the highest distinction in Process Systems Engineering in 2016 from the Otto-von-Guericke University (OvGU) of Magdeburg and the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, Germany. Dr. Zhou’s research focuses on Sustainable Process Systems Engineering. He is currently interested in computer-aided design of functional materials for energy and environmental applications using artificial intelligence methods. He has published more than 60 journal articles and his work has received more than 2400 citations. Dr. Zhou earned several important honors and awards, including the CGCA Young Researchers Award, Chemical Engineering Science Outstanding Reviewer, and the CAST Directors Award granted by AIChE. He was the Scientific Committee Member for the 31st European Symposium on Computer-Aided Process Engineering and the 14th International Symposium on Process Systems Engineering. Dr. Zhou is also an Editorial Board Member of several international journals, including Scientific Reports, eScience, and Green Energy & Environment.
