Abstract: A sustainable economy focuses on minimising the generation of waste and tries to protect and maintain the materials used in the economy. The by-products and waste used in plant nutrition can help with this. In small-plot experiments set up in 2020 and 2021, the effect of two substanc-es on winter wheat was examined. One of the used materials is Vinasse, which is a by-product of alcohol production, and the other is a zinc complex, which is produced from scrap metal. The chemical substances were used as foliar fertilisers, and their effect on the yield, crude protein and gluten content of winter wheat was examined. The impact of these formulations was exam-ined when applied as foliar fertilisers separately and together at doses of 50, 100, 250 and 500 L-ha for Vinasse and 0.5 kg/ha for zinc complex. Based on the results of the small-plot experiments set up in the fall of 2020 and 2021 and harvested in the summer of 2021 and 2022, it can be con-cluded that using Vinasse and zinc complex treatments, a higher yield and better content indi-cators could be achieved compared to the control plots. The highest dose of Vinasse (500 L/ha) and zinc complex (0.5 kg/ha) had the greatest positive effect on yield values. Regarding the plot yield, the treatment did not bring a significant correlation, while the effect of the treatment was found to be significant at 1 % for the protein content, and an even stronger significance level of
0.5 % was found for the gluten content of winter wheat samples in 2021 and 2022. So, it can be concluded that our treatments had an effect on the quality of the crop rather than its quantity.
